This department is responsible for personnel, all aspects of payroll, and employee benefits administration for Hamblen County. It carries the responsibility for the generation of County employee payroll checks, insuring that employee benefits are offered and maintained in a timely and accurate manner, and that all supporting reports and documentation are completed and submitted as required by federal and state laws. The Human Resources Manager serves as the County Workers Compensation Coordinator and assists with handling all claims. This department responds to questions, complaints, and issues relating to payroll or employee benefits, tracking all absenses filed under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and computing/preparing all Federal 941's and W-2's for County employees. The H.R. Manager guides new County staff through the new hire process and maintains all current County employee files, along with the personnel archives of previous employees.
